FAQ and troubleshooting#
This page answers the questions organizers ask most, grouped by task. Each answer is self-contained; related guides are linked where they go deeper.
Setup#
How do I change a weight class or its round duration? Open the class and edit it. The event’s groups migrate to the updated class. If you use the same categories every event, save them as defaults for your club or federation so new events are one switch away.
The import created duplicate classes with 3x3 rounds. The importer matches class names case-insensitively. Names that do not resemble an existing class (for example, a different naming scheme) still create new classes, and auto-created classes default to 3x3. Edit the affected classes to the right round durations, remove the duplicates, and make sure import file class names match your setup.
Can we run multiple sessions per day, or rings only on some days? Yes. Add several timeslots with different start times, and toggle rings on and off per timeslot (red is off, green is on). The event end date must cover the day: you cannot add a session on a day past it.
How do I add boxers who are not registered at all? Enable Add unlinked boxer, then add them by name, club and class. Unlinked boxers have limited information (no full record) unless their club later sets them up properly. You can also paste several rows into the name field to prefill them.
Registration#
Registration closed but a team still needs to enter. As organizer you can always add boxers: Participants → Register, search for the team, and add them. You may exceed the participant limit this way. To let clubs do more themselves, extend the deadline under settings.
We want clubs to swap boxers but not add new ones after the deadline. Set Last time for clubs to update their registrations. Until that time, clubs can change weights, remove boxers, and swap one boxer for another, but not add extra ones.
A team paid for 10 boxers, removed 2, and can now add 2 without paying. Payments attach to the headcount at the time of payment. If you do not want this, refund or credit the team from the transactions view and have them re-register, or adjust manually.
The registration fee changed. Do earlier teams pay the new price? No. Teams are charged the price set when they registered. Teams that registered before a fee existed have no payment attached at all.
Draws and groups#
Locking, drawing or splitting a group produces nothing. Only checked-in or weighed-in boxers are included, and a group needs at least two eligible boxers. See Check-in and weigh-in. The bracket has more matches than boxers (for example, 6 boxers and 8 matches). This happens when boxers are removed after the draw started. Reset the group and draw it again with the final participant list.
We have a group of 3 and want a specific structure with a bye. Drag and drop boxers into bracket positions, and add extra matches with Add match. Be careful editing generated matches: if something breaks, resetting the group and redrawing is the cleanest fix.
How do I handle boxers without opponents? Filter groups by boxer count = 1. Then move the boxer to another suitable group, or create manual matches. Details in Event draws. Can I cancel or redo a draw? Reset the group from the group page and draw again. Resets work one group at a time, and only before results exist in that group. Reset results first if needed.
Can I split a group so two boxers from the same club do not meet? Yes. Split the group before drawing, or place the boxers on opposite sides of the bracket.
Planning#
Matches are missing from the plan or show as unplanned. See Event planning, Troubleshooting. Can I move a match to another day or ring? Yes, at any time before results exist. Use the three dots on the match (Move, Move timeslot). After bouts start, move them from the matchlist instead of re-running planning.
The real plan does not sort matches by category. Save the real plan: sorting (youngest and lightest first, then round) applies on save. Also check that every match has a ring assigned.
Match day#
Do judges scan the QR code for every bout? No. Scanning a judge position (for example, Judge 1) gives that device access to that position for the whole session. See Supervisor. How do we use 3 judges instead of 5? Set the number of judges under Referees → Plan before generating the schedule. See Supervisor. What happens when the judges score a draw? The total turns yellow for the supervisor and judges receive a tiebreaker prompt to select the winner. The supervisor can also enter the tiebreaker manually, for example when scoring on paper, by pressing the totals.
A boxer missed weight. What now? See Check-in and weigh-in, Common questions. Do we have to print anything for weigh-ins? No. See Check-in and weigh-in for the options.
Displays and spectators#
How do I show scores on a screen in the ring corner? Press Live score above the matchlist. See Live displays and streaming.
Where can spectators follow the event? Share the event link. Published sessions show bout lists, live scores and results in any phone browser, with no app or account.
Can we get medal certificates? Statistics → Reports → Medalists gives a printable medalist report. Custom certificate designs are not supported.
Account and permissions#
How do I add another organizer? They first need a BoxerBase account (sign up with email), then invite them under Settings → Officials by email. Inviting an email without an account fails.
Can other people change my boxers or clubs? Only event organizers can edit details within their own competition, and only for that event. Nobody else can edit your club or your boxers’ profiles.
Can referees and judges register themselves for the event? No. Officials are added by the organizer under Referees.
